Download/Install ebrary Reader™ Plug-in for Windows
ebrary Reader is a browser plug-in that works with your browser. It lets you view the actual pages of a book or other document, search the full text, print selected pages, and link to a variety of reference sites to get more information. ebrary Reader is available for a variety of browsers on both Windows and Macintosh computers.

| | Instructions | Internet Explorer - Click the link to initiate the Active-X installer.
- If using XP, if your Infomation bar appears, click it and choose "Install Active-X Control". If not using the Information bar, a box should appear asking if you want to install the Active-X control, click "Install".
- Once install is successful, you should see a message in the browser telling you that installation is complete.
- When you click to view a book, the license agreement should appear in a pop-up window (be sure to allow pop-ups for ebrary.com) for you to accept.
Firefox - Click the link to initiate our automatic installer, which is a .xpi
- If the ebrary Reader is not installed automatically by Firefox, then perform the following additional steps:
- After clicking the installation link, click on the puzzle piece that says, "Click here to download plugin."
- Click on the "Manual Install" button. This will open an ebrary download page in a new window.
- Click the "Download ebrary Reader for Windows Now" link. Depending on your security settings, Firefox may display a plugin security warning at the top of the page and refuse to download the plugin. If this happens, you must:
- Click the "Edit Options..." button.
- Click "Allow" to add ebrary.com to the list of trusted sites.
- Click "OK" to update your options.
- Click the "Download ebrary Reader for Windows Now" link again to download the Reader.
- Once the plugin downloads, click the "Install Now" button to complete installation.
Other browsers - Click the link to download the installer to your system.
- Find the installer as it was downloaded to your system (usually Desktop)
Search for "ebraryReader.exe" on your hard drive if you can't find it. - Double click to run the "ebraryReader.exe" program.
- Follow the on-screen instructions in the "ebrary Reader Installer."
- If you get a message saying you need to install the ebrary Reader when opening a document, try closing and restarting your browser.
